TIM GROISI

CREATIVE DIRECTOR | FOUNDER

BIOGRAPHY

Tim Groisi is a Franco-American photographer, creative director, and the founder of Groisi Studio. Based in Minneapolis and working across Chicago and Los Angeles, his work is shaped by a belief that photography should feel intentional, refined, and quietly powerful. As both an artist and creative leader, Tim approaches image making with a clear point of view: remove what is unnecessary, focus on what matters, and let the subject’s presence lead the frame.

Tim founded Groisi Studio in 2019 as a way to build a visual world around portraiture, editorial imagery, and brand-driven photography. What began as a personal creative pursuit has developed into a photography house guided by restraint, polish, and a strong sense of identity. His role as creative director is not only to photograph, but to shape the atmosphere, direction, and purpose behind each image.

At the center of Tim’s work is a minimalist philosophy rooted in the idea that less is more. He believes simplicity is not the absence of detail, but the discipline to choose only what strengthens the image.

Clean composition, thoughtful light, quiet confidence, and emotional clarity are central to his approach. To Tim, the most sophisticated images are often the ones that do not need to explain themselves.

His photography is influenced by design, fashion, cinema, architecture, and the cultural figures who shape the visual language of their time. Rather than chasing excess or trends, Tim is drawn to images that feel timeless, composed, and direct. He aims to create photographs that carry presence without noise, elegance without distance, and polish without losing humanity.

As the founder of Groisi Studio, Tim’s vision is to build a modern creative house known for taste, discretion, and enduring visual identity. He believes a strong portrait can change how a person is seen, remembered, and understood. Through his work, he continues to refine a language of simplicity, clarity, and restraint — guided by the belief that simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.
